I know that I have been absent for a while, but hopefully things have finally calmed down enough for me to continue posting (semi)regularly. But enough about me, let's hear about the fucking music.

Bone Ritual is a band that plays black/doom metal, but this ain't your average black/doom band who steal all their riffs from Bethlehem and Dolorian. Rather, Bone Ritual takes a lot of influence from Celtic Frost and the like, and then slow it the fuck down. Think Hellhammer on horse tranquilizers. I like this album alot, but then again, I'm a sucker for Hellhammer worship. Which means if you are too, you should give this a listen.

We interrupt your scheduled program to bring you this announcement

As you all may have noticed, things have died down around here lately, and I'm sorry about that. I've been really busy lately, and until recently I have not had a reliable Internet connection. I will resume posting again as soon as I get a break from the madness.

This is Deafests second full-length album, and I have got to say, I am extremely impressed. Deafest has managed to capture misanthropy and melancholy perfectly in musical forms, does so in a way that is truly genuine, unlike most of the bands out there today who go out of their way to be grim and kvlt. The really interesting thing about this album is that it is completely instrumental. Though unusual, Deafest manages to pull it off well. I didn't even notice that there were no vocals the first time I listened to it. This comes highly recommended, especially for fans of previous releases.

As per request of Impending Doom.

Skeleton of God is a Death/Grind band from Colorado that contains members of esteemed acts such as Exit-13, Coma Void, and Hideous Corpse. With such talent all in one place, you know that you are in for a treat, and SoG certainly does not disappoint. They play death/grind with a lot of breaks that are clearly inspired heavily by psychedelic and stoner music. Stoner death metal? I didn't think it could ever work either, but I'm glad Skeleton of God proved me wrong. If you do not already have this, grab it immediately.

The Descent Of The Sun requested that I post a few of their releases, so here goes. TDOTS plays black/doom metal with a heavy ambient influence. The influence is such that I don't recall hearing any drums in this nearly hour long release. Regardless, this is some high quality music. The problem I usually have with this style is that it gets boring and repetitive, but TDOTS manages to avoid this all too common pitfall, and the result is some high quality, low-fi blackened doom. Hgihly recommended.
